The EU–Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation, a key initiative within the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN), has relaunched its successful online B2B matchmaking platform dedicated to organizations driving the green transition. This initiative aims to strengthen technological and business collaboration between the European Union and Japan, fostering innovation that supports the shift toward a low-carbon, sustainable economy.
Connecting innovators in the green transition
The EU–Japan Green Transition Matchmaking Event 2025–26 provides a dynamic digital space where European and Japanese companies, research institutions, and organizations can meet, exchange expertise, and form strategic partnerships. Participants gain access to tailored networking opportunities that promote cooperation on cutting-edge clean technologies, sustainable industrial processes, and climate-neutral solutions.
How it works
The platform functions as a permanent online matchmaking hub (open until March 2026) where registered participants can:
- Create a profile describing their expertise, technologies, and cooperation interests (“Offers and Requests”);
- Search and contact potential partners using keywords or thematic categories;
- Schedule meetings online at any time or in person during dedicated events in Europe or Japan (for example, Smart Energy Week / Sustainability Management Week or Hydrogen Technology Expo Hamburg).
Target fields
The platform focuses on a wide range of strategic areas essential to the global green transformation, including:
- Hydrogen, fuel cells, and electrolysers
- Battery and energy storage technologies
- Solar photovoltaic and solar thermal systems
- Grid modernization and smart energy management
- Onshore wind and offshore renewable technologies
- Carbon capture and storage (CCS)
- Heat pumps and geothermal energy
- Energy efficiency solutions
- Green materials and low-carbon manufacturing
- Circular economy, product lifecycle management (PLM), and recycling
- Environmental monitoring, analysis, and assessment equipment
- Environmental consulting and related services
Who can participate
Participation is open to enterprises, research centers, universities, and related organizations based in the European Union or Japan that are active in the above fields. Individual applicants are not eligible.
Each registration is carefully reviewed by the organizers to ensure alignment with the event’s objectives and quality of collaboration.
Why it’s relevant
This is a valuable opportunity for companies that want to:
- Find Japanese partners for technology exchange, research collaboration, or commercial partnerships;
- Identify new suppliers, clients, or investors in the green-tech ecosystem;
- Participate in thematic B2B sessions around key industry events in Europe and Japan.
Timeline and registration
The platform is open for registration now and will remain active until the end of March 2026, providing ongoing opportunities for participants to identify potential partners, schedule virtual meetings, and explore international cooperation projects.
